Introduction

Hi all,

My name is James Gates and I am new to blogging. However I want to create an interesting read for those of you who like to keep up with blogs. I don't want to keep up with current affairs, but I do. They are depressing sometimes and it is a good thing to get things off your chest.

As of today, September 9th, 2008, there is a hurricane bearing down on the Texas gulf, we are expecting visitors from the south to arrive this week (that is Dallas is expecting, not me and and my wife), there is an election that will be happening soon and there are too many things to share. However, I will share what is going on in my immediate life as of right now.

I am sitting here with my wife showing her how to get her own blog started. She wants to be a published author and I suggested that she start a blog to get her mind in shape and take parts of her blog and create her book from what she learns from it. She is an amazing woman with a wonderful talent in sign language and helping the Deaf community. It is about time that she gets her hands dirty and wears out some shoes (so to speak) in getting this thing off and running.

I, on the other hand, am learning Adobe InDesign. I am a photographer with a passion in creating brochures and newsletters. If I could only find the time. I do find the time occasionally and get some pretty cool things out there. Just wish I was a bit more proactive.

Speaking of proactive, I am trying to be less lazy and get more done in less time. Something that I struggle with. Time catches up with me and I get a little discouraged. I have tools that I am using and am getting closer to my dreams beacuse of them. (There is a God and he blesses me.)

I will post about what I have learned during the day in my general musings and hopefully you can gleen something out of it. If you do, let me know. We can talk more about it.
